I have always enjoyed learning of the different ways God makes Himself known to His people and hearing of the circumstances leading to their salvation. It is wonderful to know how His Spirit prompts us to accept the magnificent offer of salvation. I hope you enjoy this collection of testimonies and pray it will inspire you to ask someone you know to share theirs. For those who feel led to have their story posted here, please email to the address listed in the sidebar. Posts may also include testimony of how God has worked in your life since your salvation experience. I'm starting with mine and hope to hear yours soon.

My Testimony

I don’t have one of those dynamic testimonies where I grew up in an abusive family and as a teenager, became addicted to drugs and alcohol then one day stumbled into a tent revival where I became convicted of my sinful nature and was saved.  I did grow up in a family where as a preschooler I barely remember seeing my parents baptized together as young parents and then becoming very involved in our church as new Christians sometimes do.  Shortly thereafter our church went through a split and we began meeting in an old house and eventually were able to move into a church building that we attended at the time I began to ask questions about being saved and what that meant.  I have to say I don’t remember all the details that led up to the point in time I was saved. But, I do remember the specifics of when I was saved. I was in the 4th grade and one Sunday afternoon after church, my Dad and I were in my bedroom talking about what it meant to be saved and what I had to do to be saved.  He was so good at explaining how simple it was and all I had to do was ask Jesus to come into my heart. So, there in my bedroom, I knelt down beside the bottom bunk of mine and my brother’s bunk-beds and with child like faith asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and save me.  He did.  I can say being saved and growing up in church with a Christian family that supported me, kept me out of a lot of trouble that a boy…teenager…young man could have gotten into and He has continued to have His guiding hand on me throughout my entire life.

Thanks Dad for being sensitive to His Spirit working in my heart and having the courage to explain what was happening to me.
